Checklist

Minimize
  • Sophomore Year - Review Academic-Eligibility Standards to ensure you are planning your classes. High School counselor should assist with this.
  • Register the beginning of your junior year for eligibility.
    • NCAA I & II - www.eligibilitycenter.org
      • Ask you high school counselor to send your transcript to the NCAA Eligibility Center at the end of your junior year.
    • NAIA - www.playnaia.org
    • NJCAA - Due to the unique academic and athletic situation of each individual, and the complexity of the NJCAA eligibility rules, it is recommended that each potential student-athlete discuss their athletic eligibility with the athletic personnel at the NJCAA college where they have chosen to attend.  Should the athletic staff have any questions in determining an individual's eligibility, the college may contact the NJCAA National Office for assistance.
  • Junior Year - Take the ACT or SAT.
    • NCAA I & II - Use the code "9999" to have your official scores sent directly to the NCAA Eligibility Center.
  • Junior Year - Build and work on your 'college wish list'.
  • End of your junior year - check with your high school counselor to make sure you are on track to graduate on time and have the required amount of core courses.
  • Beginning of your senior year - Register for  SAT or ACT a second time if you need higher scores.
  • Request final amateurism certification during your senior year (beginning Apr 1).
  • Ask your high school counselor to submit your final transcript with proof of graduation.
